What is Chrono Odyssey?
Chrono Odyssey is an online MMO action RPG. Through the power of Unreal Engine 5, the land of Setara is set in the backdrop of a fantasy world that is being pillaged by invaders of the Void. Players will adventure across a seamless world completing quests, exploring dungeons, and engaging in large-scale raids with several other players. Combat is action-oriented and centered around melee, long-range, magic, and defensive strategies depending on the class selected. At the core of these combat mechanics is the usage of time manipulation and skill trees that embolden a player's preferred strategies. Combat is layered and offers players versatility in strategies with each class being capable of swapping between three different weapon types. Dodge, parry, and counter mechanics popularized by soulslike games are present in this title.
As with most MMORPGs, Chrono Odyssey allows for deep player customization beginning with character creation and class selection as well as extensive skill trees for character progression. The game features six classes to choose from. Those classes are as follows:
- Swordsman: Versatile melee class adept at balancing attack and defense.
- Ranger: Agile ranged damage dealer specializing in burst attacks and mobility.
- Paladin: Durable tank/support with healing capabilities and crowd-control.
- Berserker: Powerful melee bruiser excelling in sustained, high-risk combat.
- Sorcerer: Mage class focused on AoE damage and supportive magic.
- Assassin: Stealth-oriented melee DPS class with high burst damage and mobility.
Chrono Odyssey Release and Availability
Chrono Odyssey was first announced in 2021 and quickly became an ambitious title being dubbed as a next-gen MMORPG. Since then, it has been announced for a late 2025 release for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. A limited beta is set to run from June 20-22.

Gameplay Features in Chrono Odyssey
Time-Manipulation Combat
- Use the Chronotector, an artifact allowing players to manipulate time to engage in unique combat strategies. Use real-time action-based melee, long-range, and magic tactics for bringing down the biggest enemies in Setara.
Class System
- Customize your character with character creation and class selection that includes the following six options: swordsman, berserker, paladin, ranger, sorcerer, and assassin. Each class can switch between three weapons and utilize skill tree progression for deeper customization.
Exploration
- Explore a vast, seamless world. Tackle dungeons with friends, craft new equipment, engage in dynamic challenges, and world-building lore that helps enrich the experience.
Large-scale PvPvE Content
- Ally yourself with other players to conquer dungeons, raids, or engage each other in several options ranging from 5-player co-op to several players in large raids.
Classes in Chrono Odyssey
Berserker
A single heaving breath, then gnashing of chains. Blood spilt is but fuel for the flame.
Berserkers are relentless warriors, embodying raw fury and unmatched ferocity on the battlefield. Chain blades pull enemies into the fray, twin axes deliver devastating blows, and the battle axe provides sturdy defense for allies. Fueled by Rage, berserkers unleash relentless assaults, and funher bloodshed only drives their power to new heights. Their destruction ends only when all foes fall silent.
Swordsman
A radiant blade hcralding the Void’s doom
Swordsmen are versatile warriors, excelling in both offense and defense to control the flow of battle. The greatsword crushes enemies with sheer force, dual blades strike with deadly precision, and the sword and shield
provide impenetrable defense. Their strength is fueled by Rage, which flares in the heat of battle but wanes without. Swordsmen grow ever stronger in prolonged combat, blade and resolve unshaken. Whether vanquishing the Void or protecting their allied, swordsmen wield the power to pierce through the every constraints of time itself.
Ranger
A lonely arrow cleaves the abyss as thousands lament.
Rangers are masters of ranged combat, excelling in neutralizing enemies from a distance while well-prepared for close encounters. The bow and crossbow deliver precise, lethal strikes, while rapier ensures survival in dire straits. Drawing upon Vigor, a lifeforce representing their connection to nature, they unleash devastating, attacks that return foes to nothingness. With arrows that blaze as stars, they carve their own path across the battlefield, shaping the destiny of all who stand before them.
Paladin
Behold, the knight stands as a beacon of light, heeding the divine call.
Paladins are steadfast warriors, devoted to protecting allied and vanquishing foes with divine power. The mace heals comrades and delivers judgment upon the wicked, the lance deflects even the mightiest of blows, and the halberd cleaves through enemy ranks with unyielding force. They draw upon Mana, and energy restored over time. Their unwavering devotion of the divine enhances their strength, allowing them to cast a variety of holy auras. By executing the will of Chronos, paladins bring order to darkness as they valiantly command the battlefield.
Assassin
Neither here nor there, as silent as the death they grant.
Assassins are masters of stealth and precision, striking from the shadows to eliminate their targets with ruthless efficiency. The sabre and wrist blades deliver precise hits even amidst the chaos of battle, while the musket deals ranged damage to catch enemies unawares. They draw upon Vigor and Bloodlust to unleash devastating blows in quick succession. Reapers of death and executioners of fate, assassins wield the power of darkness, their musket shots often signaling victory.
Sorcerer
The wise discern the time to strike, Lo, tis now.
Sorcerers are masters of magic, harnessing arcane power to devastate enemies and support allies. The staff channels elemental energy for destructive spells, the manasphere manipulates time to expose enemy weaknesses, and the grimoire emits radiant light to heal allies. Their magic is fueled by Mana, which is replenished through the endless flow of time. With greater magical prowess, sorcerers become dominant forces of the battlefield, shaping victory with wisdom drawn from realms beyond the void.
